About The Project

The Stockinbingal to Parkes section of Inland Rail will make enhancements or modifications to specific sites along the existing 170.3km of rail corridor in regional New South Wales.

The enhancement and modification works are required to create height and width (horizontal and vertical) clearance to accommodate double-stacked freight trains.

Some of the works planned include:

JDK Geotech's Involvement

JDK’s involvement to the project was focused on the construction phase services (CPS). JDK was engaged by The Rix Group to carry out the daily capture of geotechnical/geological information to verify ARTC's project design. The project was carried out under a 10/4 shift roster. Our JDK consultant's primary objective is the verification of current and ongoing piling (Geotechnical) drilling for project design compliance.

VALUE ADDED TO THE PROJECT

JDK was engaged to undertake geotechnical site investigations and piling rig supervision to conform to bedrock conditions. Due to works being conducted on a live rail, the work crew was constantly demobilised when trains were scheduled to pass through. Our seamless cooperation with the drilling contractor and efficient ground investigations allowed for minimal stoppages to achieve maximum productivity and ensured that the project stayed on program.
