JDK is an engineering consultancy specialising in delivering technical services and project management advice for large-scale infrastructure, transportation and mining projects. Our team is drawn to working alongside creative and innovative minds that stay ahead of the game in their work.
JDK is currently providing technical services to several clients in NSW and QLD, with most of our site work focused on large-scale projects in civil construction, mining, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Report to the Mine Manager of the client and the Technical Services Manager
Provide casual and daily geological advice related to the mine’s current and future plans
Slope stability assessments, 3D modelling and underground stability review
Assess and facilitate the assessment of new open pit and underground mines.
Manage geotechnical risk with reference to relevant Mining Acts and Regulations
Review geotechnical information for input in geotechnical design
Perform stability analysis of slopes in open pits and UG excavations using accepted industry practices
Design, review and implementation of Hazard Plans, Permit to Drill & Mine and Permits to Mine
Facilitate internal and external audits and inspections for the technical services department
Optimising ground support policies for underground development to manage the ground conditions in a cost-efficient and practical manner
Improve selective mining processes via a reduction in stope over break and dilution.

About you
Suitable tertiary qualification in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Mining Engineering qualifications
Minimum one year of tunnel or mining experience
Experience with geotechnical investigations, interpretation and 3D modelling software
Experience using Geotechnical & Mining Software, and Mine Planning Systems - including LeapFrog, Minex, Plaxis, RocScience suite and Map3D
Experience in mine production and development operations
Strong analytical skills and understanding of statutory requirements for NSW or QLD mines
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
